“I Already Have a Mason.” Why Do I Need an Architect?

There are a few things Nigerians trust more than a good mason.

If your neighbour built a nice house with him, your first thought is probably, “Let’s call that same guy.”

In our honest opinion, there’s nothing wrong with that. A good mason is valuable.

But here’s the thing. A mason knows how to build.

An architect helps decide what should be built in the first place.

Those are two different jobs.

Imagine you’re travelling from Onitsha to Abuja.

The driver may be excellent with his driving skills, but if nobody planned the route, chose the destination, or checked the fuel, you’re relying on luck.

Building works the same way.

I’ve seen people spend money fixing things that could have been avoided with a little planning.

Rooms that are too hot for the tropical climate because of where the windows were placed.

A staircase that wastes too much space.

A kitchen that becomes frustrating to use.

A compound where parking is a daily struggle.

None of these happen because the builder is bad.

They happen because no one stepped back to ask, “Is this the best way to do it?”

That’s where VolArchy comes in.

Before the first block is laid, I help you think through your land, your budget, your family and how you want to live; not copying another person’s lifestyle.

The goal isn’t to make your project more expensive.

It’s to help you spend your money on the right things the first time. The euphoria of some fancy things you see and install or put in your design fizzles off after you start living with it.

A good mason builds your house.

We at VolArchy, help make sure it’s a house you’ll still enjoy living in years from now.
