When I was registering the name VolArchy for my architecture business, I was also making sure that the specific social media handles I wanted to use where also available for just the name – volarchy.
I didn’t want to add any underscores or extra letters.
However, I couldn’t get that name only, for my website.
It happened that someone had bought the name, but the website was not active.
I didn’t want to reach out to the person and have them bump up the resell price on me.
I left the idea fallow for over a year until last year in November after I had written my professional exam and gotten my licensure.
I began trying name combinations again, while hoping that the person will drop the name.
By February this year, at the time the name will expire, I hoped that the person wouldn’t renew it.
But, they did.
With that frustration, I added ltd to the name and bought it like that.
I started working with volarchyltd.com.
I moved my architecture blog into it and started pushing the website.
Few days ago, I was researching another person’s website when the idea to check the availability of volarchy.com came to my mind.
I checked and behold, the name was available.
I don’t know when the person that had it, dropped it but I’m grateful.
Officially, we have moved from volarchyltd.com TO volarchy.com
